JOKA has been producing box spring beds in Austria since 1980, at that time under the name "Hollywood bed",
but the basic function has remained the same - a mattress on a mattress - nowadays however
with the most modern materials and production methods.
What is a box spring?
For many years, boxspring beds were only common in the hotel industry and are particularly popular in the USA, Canada and Scandinavia. But they are also becoming more and more popular here and are finding their way into private living rooms.
It is a sleeping system in which a sprung base similar to a mattress forms the basis instead of a slatted frame. Boxspring means spring and essentially describes the structure of the base. The actual mattress then lies on the box spring, i.e. the base frame. However, since there is more or less a mattress on top of a mattress, the double spring travel results in excellent lying comfort. Due to its relatively high structure, a box spring bed has an optimal entry height and is also visually very inviting.
Only with a box spring bed can you "sleep like on clouds"!

By the way, every Boxspring is handmade in Austria, in our factory in Schwanenstadt.
